(Mother Earth speaks)
I gave you a home.
I gave you everything you ever could have needed.
I gave you a space to create whatever reality suited you.
You repaid me with extinction.
You repaid me with toxication.
You repaid me with pollution.
I gave you a world where things were meant to grow.
And all you did was kill it.
I am your world where things are meant to grow.
And all you do is kill me.
You kill it with your money, your egos and your ignorance.
You kill it with your cars, your trash and your processed foods.
You kill me when you choose to push a pedal and pump, instead of taking a step.
You kill me when you choose name brands, instead of non-profits.
You kill me everyday -- in every way.
The consequences are seen with the loss of your health, the loss of your home and the loss of your children's futures.
Your consequences are really the loss of your own lives.
I am patient because I know that you are just destroying yourselves.
I am patient because I trust that you will realize you are taking your own lives.
I am patient because I know you are only killing yourselves when you kill me.
Because once what you see is gone,
Once I am gone,
You will be gone, too.
You exist because of me.
You exist for me.
You do not exist without me.
Once you and what you see is gone,
I will still remain.
And I will grow again,
and you will be forgotten,
But never forgiven.
