Life’s most persistent and urgent question is,
”What are you doing for others?”
— Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Our Mission

Our HiSTORY

Originally known as the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Project of Saratoga Springs, our community-based organization has held an annual celebration in honor of our nation's most remarkable civil rights leader for over 20 years. In 2015, we began to broaden our programming with events spanning the entire weekend leading up to the national holiday. Then in 2017, we shortened our name to MLK Saratoga, and began offering events, workshops and gatherings throughout the year, as well as partnering with other community organizations in co-sponsorship and leadership roles.

“Power without love is reckless and abusive, and love without power is sentimental and anemic. Power at its best is love implementing the demands of justice, and justice at its best is power correcting everything that stands against love.”
— Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
