of Dr. King's Assassination

Silent March & VIGIL

5:30pm to 6:30pm

Dr. King's Final Speech (audio/full)

MLK Saratoga is organizing a Silent March and Vigil to remember and honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on the 50th anniversary of his assassination. Gathering at 5:30pm on Ellsworth Jones Place in front of the Saratoga Springs City Center, we will march down Broadway in silence, as people did four days after Dr. King’s death, ending at the Visitor Center across from Congress Park, with a brief program recommitting to justice and peace for all. Church bells will ring at 6:05pm, the time when Dr. King was shot.

NOTE: MLK Saratoga will provide signs that have historic significance: "Honor King: End Racism!" Please do not bring your own.
